Mount Moses is one of the main attractions on the Sinai Peninsula. According to legend, on this
God appeared to Moses and told him the Ten Commandments. The ascent is usually done at night, pilgrims call
“Ladder of repentance” - grants remission of sins. At the foot of the mountain is the monastery of St. Catherine - an ancient
complex of buildings of early Christianity.
