About this tour

Ancient Petra is Jordan's most famous landmark. It lies more than 900 m above sea level in a narrow canyon and was carved directly into the rock more than 2,000 years ago.

  • Drive from the hotel to Taba, ferry crossing and border formalities in Aqaba
  • Bus to the town of Wadi Musa, about 3 hours
  • Walk into ancient Petra through the Siq gorge, about 1 km
  • Al-Khazneh (the Treasury), one of Petra's main sights, the tomb of a Nabataean king
  • Roman amphitheater, Royal Tombs and obelisks
  • Climb to a viewpoint for a panoramic view
  • Lunch at a restaurant
  • Return to Aqaba
  • Arrival at the hotel at about 1 a.m. the next day

  • The ticket price for a child under 2 is $40.
  • An advance payment of $20 per person is required (permit and seat booking).
  • To arrange the tourist police travel permit, please send photos of the passports of everyone traveling.
  • Your Egyptian visa is not canceled; a Sinai stamp is sufficient.
  • Citizens of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Armenia must obtain a visa themselves at the Jordanian consulate.
