A two-day journey into Ancient Egypt with an overnight stay in Aswan.

Day 1

  • Temple of Horus in Edfu, built in honor of the falcon-headed god of the sun and sky
  • Arrival in Aswan and lunch on the banks of the Nile
  • Aswan High Dam and the Lotus Monument
  • Walk along the Nile
  • Temple of Isis on Philae Island, with reliefs showing offerings to the Egyptian gods
  • Hotel check-in, free time and dinner

Day 2

  • Departure from the hotel to Abu Simbel at about 4 am (breakfast on the way); the drive takes about 3 hours
  • Great Temple of Ramses II and the Small Temple of Nefertari. The Temple of Ramses II is dedicated to the gods Amun-Ra and Ptah; above the entrance to the Temple of Nefertari is the inscription “To the one for whom the sun shines.”
  • Lunch and return to Aswan

Itinerary

  1. Day 1
