Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Karnak and Luxor Temple

    Visit the Karnak Temple complex (the City of the Living), one of the largest open-air museums and ancient religious sites in the world. Transfer to the ship, check-in and buffet lunch. In the afternoon, visit Luxor Temple, built under Pharaoh Amenhotep III, where great processions once traveled along the avenue linking it to Karnak. Dinner at 20:00, free time.

  2. Day 2: West Bank of Luxor

    Breakfast at 8:00. Colossi of Memnon, once called "singing" for the ringing sound they made. Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, who ruled Egypt for 23 years. Valley of the Kings, with tombs of rulers of the 18th to 20th dynasties, including Tutankhamun. Lunch, then sailing to Edfu and dinner on board.

  3. Day 3: Edfu and Kom Ombo

    Breakfast at 8:00. Temple of the falcon-headed god Horus in Edfu, built, according to legend, to honor Horus's victory over Set. Sailing to Kom Ombo, lunch at 13:00. Visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to two gods, Sobek (god of water and the Nile flood) and Horus (god of the sun and sky), and built under the Ptolemies. Sailing to Aswan, dinner and entertainment program.

  4. Day 4: Aswan

    Optional early trip to Abu Simbel at 5:00 by bus to the Temple of Ramses II: about 3 hours each way and 2 hours at the temple (extra charge, $50 adult / $25 child when booked in advance; more expensive on site). Lunch at 13:00. Aswan High Dam and the Lotus Monument (built in honor of Egyptian-Soviet friendship), a crocodile village, and the Temple of Isis on Philae Island. Dinner and a national show.

  5. Day 5: Return to Hurghada

    Breakfast at 7:00 and return to Hurghada, arriving at your hotel at about 21:00.
