About this tour

A day in ancient Thebes, starting at the Karnak Temple complex (the City of the Living), one of the largest open-air museums and one of the largest ancient religious sites in the world.

  • Boat ride on the Nile
  • Colossi of Memnon (Valley of the Dead). In ancient times the colossi were called "singing" because the statues gave off a long, thin ringing sound.
  • Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. The queen-pharaoh ruled Egypt for 23 years, a period considered the height of ancient Egyptian culture and art.
  • Valley of the Kings, where dozens of tombs were cut into the hills for rulers of the 18th to 20th dynasties (from the 16th century BC). The most famous tomb belongs to Tutankhamun.
